Autrey Mill Nature Preserve would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt end-of-year thank you to the residents of the Country Club of the South (CCS) and the CCS Charity Guild for your incredible support. Your generosity strengthens our mission to create a welcoming destination and educational resource that inspires exploration, appreciation, and preservation of the natural environment and local history.
This year was especially challenging for many families, and we were profoundly proud to offer camp scholarships to those who needed them most. Thanks to the 2025 CCS Charity Guild small grant, 15 children in need were able to attend Autrey Mill’s Summer Camp—a week of discovery, confidence-building, and joy in nature.
Parents shared openly about the hardships they were facing:
“We are applying for financial aid because, due to the changes in the economy, we have been struggling to keep our heads above water between the cost of child care, basic needs, and bills. I am a nurse and work 12-hour shifts, and it would be a blessing to have my kids in a camp like Autrey Mill.”
“We strongly believe that camp will provide our child with valuable experiences, personal growth, and opportunities to build confidence and independence. Without assistance, we would not be able to provide this enriching experience.”
The Country Club of the South Charity Guild’s generosity supported five single-parent households, three families with disabilities, two immigrant families, and one family in which grandparents on a fixed income are raising a grandchild after the death of a parent. In total, we welcomed campers from across our community: 6 from Johns Creek, two from Duluth, two from Peachtree Corners, four from Alpharetta, and one from Roswell.
Your support truly made a difference, not only for Autrey Mill but for the families and children whose summer was brightened by your kindness. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to our community.
