The purpose of the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve Association is to be a destination that inspires exploration, appreciation, and preservation of the natural environment and local history. With a mission to connect residents and neighboring communities to the natural and historical heritage of Johns Creek through imaginative and inspirational programs. The Board of Directors’ vision for Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Historic Center is to be a local treasure growing in visibility and stature to become a regional destination of choice.

Discover nature, history, and community at Autrey Mill

Explore wooded trails and wetlands, visit historic farmhouses, a country store, and a local church building relocated and restored to preserve the legacy of the farming community that once called this place home. Discover rescued animals and historic artifacts in our Visitor Center & Farm Museum. Become an Autrey Mill Nature Preserve Member and receice discounts on events, weekly and monthly programs or become a volunteer and docent.

 

What to expect

Autrey Mill is a welcoming destination for families, school groups, seniors, and nature lovers. Walk our shaded trails, watch for native wildlife in the wetlands, and step back in time among historic buildings that were carefully moved to the preserve to protect the stories of the local farming community.

Visitor Center & Farm Museum

Our Visitor Center and Farm Museum combine living history with wildlife care. You’ll find rescued animals alongside historic tools, household items, and exhibits that illuminate everyday life on the farm.

Programs & events

We offer hands-on programs for children, interpretive hikes, volunteer opportunities, and senior-focused events. Many programs are free or low-cost—your visit and support help keep them accessible to the community.
