On her adventure this is what Nicole Wolf had to say about Autrey Mill:
” Autrey Mill Nature Preserve
This was one of my favorites on my Johns Creek visit – it’s so cool that the city has its very own nature preserve tucked away just minutes from shopping & restaurants.
Autrey Mill was founded on an old mill site in the late 80’s as part of preservation efforts to keep this historic land intact. Today, Autrey Mill has a network of 2.5 miles of trails running through a pretty hardwood forest, with stops along the way to learn more about the Native American history. There is also a group of buildings called Heritage Village at the start of the trails, with a Visitors Center to learn more about the history of the preserve.
Points of interests include a small gold mine, overlooks of the preserve, and a scenic creek with plenty of spots to stop and picnic or just take in the view.
The best part about Autrey Mill – it’s dog friendly & totally free to visit.”
We look forward to your next visit Nicole! Take a moment to visit her full post and learn about her next adventure: ATL Adventurer.
Thank you Johns Creek Convention and Visitor Bureau sending her our way!
