Badge Programs & Workshops
Our annual Scout Day in November is a wonderful opportunity for Cub Scouts, Brownies and Junior Girl Scouts to earn a badge, patch, belt loop, etc. Participants receive a ‘passport’ when they pay their entry fee. This passport guides them through the various stations set up around the preserve, where they can perform activities toward earning a badge, rank requirement, etc.
In addition to Scout Day, we offer on-demand programs designed to allow scouts to earn a badge, participate in an elective or engage in a similar activity for their level. Contact us to schedule a program for your group. An Autrey Mill patch is included for each Scout.

In 2015, a total of 21 projects were completed with over 2,430 volunteer hours. Autrey Mill has dozens of projects on-going.

Eagle Scout Merit Badge Workshops
October 1st from 10am-2pm Autrey Mill is hosting the Indian Lore and Leather Working Merit Badge Workshops. Boy Scouts who join us will receive all the materials and cover all the required material to earn both badges.
Indian Lore: Far different from the stereotypes or common images that are portrayed on film, on television, and in many books and stories, American Indians have many different cultures, languages, religions, styles of dress, and ways of life. To learn about these different groups is to take an exciting journey of discovery in which you will meet some of America’s most fascinating peoples.
Leather Working: Scouts who complete the requirements to earn the Leatherwork merit badge will explore leather’s history and its endless uses. They will learn to make a useful leather item using the same types of raw materials that our ancestors used; be challenged to master skills like hand-stitching, lacing, and braiding.; and learn how to preserve and protect leather items so they will last a lifetime and beyond.
Autrey Mill benefits from donations of items from local Scout groups. Donations like paper towels, bottles of water, copy paper, etc. save Autrey Mill money and lets us use our limited resources to fund the operation of Autrey Mill and the preservation of its natural environment and history. Please consider having your Scout group make a donation to Autrey Mill.
