GOATS are coming to the Mill! Thanks to help from local scouts who built their enclosure and home we are getting goats. Completion of the goat enclosure was done as an Eagle Scout project. Additional scouts and volunteers will be building a shelter and more with the assistance of the Johns Creek Convention and Visitor Bureau tourism funds. We hope to have the new arrivals in April!
We need support from the community to Sponsor and Adopt the goats. Donations will help us purchase the goats and supplies needed to keep them happy and healthy. In addition to the details below: Sponsors will be named on a plaque on the goat pen, while top sponsors will receive naming rights. If your business or family is interested in Sponsoring or Adopting a Goat please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Levels of Goat Sponsorship
- $250- sponsor food, toys, and have thanks on our website
- $500- naming rights*, and all the above benefits
- $1000- plaque on pen, thanks on home page of our website, and all the above benefits
*A limited number of naming rights are available and upon discretion of the Board of Directors.
We also need individuals with time to volunteer. Families can Adopt-A-Goat! Adoption is cost-free, however we do ask for commitment of at least a twice a month. This commitment is for families to schedule, come out, and walk the goats on the trails. This will allow them to perform their important job of keeping invasive plants under control. Families with young readers are encouraged to have their children read aloud to the goats as well. This will help them build their reading skills while the goats will benefit from social time. Who doesn’t love a good story? If you are interested in volunteering, please email email@example.com.
Please plan to attend one Goat Husbandry Class to learn more about the Methods and Safety prior to enrollment in the “Adopt a Goat” Program. This program will lead you through the safety, handling, and care needed to work with goats.
